It all started with an Argentinean aerial theatre show that was called De La Guarda of which Tomas was one of the original creative company members. When the show traveled to London in 1999 it was a total hit. It literally swept London theatre goers off their feet ... a total sell out and was THE show to see in London at that time. This is when the three of them first met.
The company held auditions for a new european cast in the roundhouse. Simone and joseph, just out of drama school, auditioned along with 2500 other hopefuls.. and got it and performed together for a year in London.
Simone and Tomas crossed paths on several tours that took them around the world. Tomas working as the Technical director and Simone as an integral member of the company, training new company members.
Tomas and Simone worked together again in Buenos Aires 2003, on the creation of the aerial theatre show Fuerza Bruta, another ground breaking aerial theatre show that continues to tour the world.
In 2008 they formed their own company Cuerda, with the vision to build a creative aerial theatre company that would work across all fields in theatre, art, publicity and in events. Joseph visited Buenos Aires in 2009 and began working with Tomas and Simone, a creative catalyst was ignited and Joseph soon moved to Buenos Aires to become the 3rd member of the company.
The rest is history.
